The Toshiba 3TB SATA Desktop Hard Disk is designed for use in low-power consumer and business desktop computers, gaming PCs, and external hard drives. The DT01ACAxx series features up to 3 TB of storage, Advanced Format, and best-in-class power management technologies. Furthermore, compared to the previous generation, this desktop drive saves up to 16% on idle power. The 6 Gb/s SATA interface disks work at 7200 RPM. These HDDs are intended to enable manufacturers to make use of the newest components and operating systems to create high-performance, high-capacity, and power-efficient systems. This 3TB drive also has a 7200 rpm rotational speed and a 64MB cache to assist ensure continuous data transfers. Furthermore, the drive is designed with characteristics that assist ensure a long operational life, such as 300,000 load/unload cycles and Advanced Sector Format technology. Advanced Sector Format technology employs a 4K byte-per-sector design with error-correcting code capabilities to improve data integrity while making better use of storage surface space.
