The Synology DiskStation DS224+ 2-Bay NAS Enclosure, equipped with a quad-core CPU, an AES-NI hardware encryption engine, and Btrfs file system compatibility, is a tiny NAS designed to offer centralized data management to small enterprises and teams. The DS224+ has two drive bays that can natively accept 3.5″ SATA hard drives as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs. With up to 2048 user accounts and 1500 maximum concurrent connections, this NAS can store and distribute a vast amount of data using its two storage bays. The DS224+ NAS Storage is powered by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, a browser-based operating system that aids in the management of your Synology NAS. Its CPU is a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 Quad-Core with a burst frequency of up to 2.7 GHz, and its 2GB DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded to 6GB, allowing for rapid access to commonly used data and apps. There are also two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports for connecting external devices, and network connectivity is given via twin inbuilt Gigabit Ethernet connections that enable link aggregation and failover, allowing your saved data to be shared with users throughout the network. Remote data access is also possible via the free iOS and Android applications. RAID 0 and 1, as well as Synology Hybrid RAID and Basic RAID, are all supported by the Synology DS224+ NAS Storage and provide performance, data redundancy, or a combination of the two. Individuals who do not require a RAID can alternatively utilize JBOD, which allows each disk bay to be used individually. The DS224+ has been intended to be energy efficient. It not only features a 92 x 92mm fan to keep the system cool at all times, but it also has a noise dampening design with a rating of 22 dBA for silent operation.
